“Curry may be the oldest continuously prepared cuisine on the planet.” When was the interruption to mankind’s consumption of shellfish, then?

I wonder if they’re making the assumption that anything qualifying as “cuisine” must date from the post-Paleo years.

I heard about the “wheat belly” thing last year, and gave up wheat for a couple of weeks. Didn’t notice any changes, didn’t lose any weight. On the other hand, I wasn’t an absolute fanatic about it. I was probably still getting bits of wheat here and there.

That’s one anecdote, of course, not data.

I go easy on the grains myself these days. Hasn’t changed my life in any big way, but it does seem to leave me needing to worry less about putting on weight. That’s been a plus.

My wife lost around 40 pounds on Gary Taubes’ low carb diet, and she stays away from wheat pretty religiously now. It’s been three years, and she still hasn’t regained it. Cooincidence? Possibly, but I’m certainly not shoving bread at her.
